Our Story

Design for the life behind the work.

Calmere Studio is a design practice for small businesses and families—built around a simple belief: the things that support our lives should leave us with more capacity to actually live them.

We design the systems, spaces, services and experiences that sit quietly beneath everyday life—helping make work more meaningful, homes feel calmer, and the things you're building easier to live with and enjoy.

Calmere Studio was founded by Alison Mulvale, a designer whose background spans design for health, service and experience design, project coordination, research and creative practice.

Our multidisciplinary approach helps us look at problems from more than one angle—connecting the pieces, understanding the experience as a whole and designing solutions that work together rather than in isolation.

For small businesses, we help shape brands, design websites, clarify offers, improve services, build scheduling and payment workflows, and create the systems and customer experiences that support the work behind the scenes.

For families, we help rethink routines, organize and decorate spaces, navigate transitions, create planning tools, and design everyday systems that make home and family life easier to move through.

The studio draws inspiration from beyond design—including architecture, music, theatre, visual art, nature, movement and storytelling.

Those influences shape how we work: looking not only at whether something functions, but at how all the pieces come together, how an experience feels and what people are likely to remember about it.

We bring research, strategy and creativity together to create solutions that are practical enough for real life and personal enough to feel like yours.

Meet Calmere

Thoughtful design, applied to real life

Bring us the challenge. We'll design the way forward together.

You might know that your website doesn't reflect the business you've built. That your offer feels difficult to explain. That part of family life creates more friction than it should. Or simply that something you've created could feel clearer, calmer, more beautiful or more intentional.

Tell us what's happening, what you're trying to create and what you want to change. We'll help make sense of the pieces and design a way forward that fits your goals and needs while integrating into your life around it.
